FlowSurf™, surf wave in a swimming pool

FlowSurf™ is the swimming-pool version of the surf wave developed by Hydrostadium. The standard version, with a 10 m-wide wave, consists of a structure 19 m long and 14 m wide. The reasonable land footprint of approximately 270 m2 allows the structure to be installed indoors. Water circulates in a closed loop in the FlowSurf™ basin, with a capacity of approximately 480 m3 (¼ of an Olympic-size swimming pool).

The width of the FlowSurf™ surfing area can be selected according to requirements, with each pump corresponding to a predefined width. The pumps are submerged beneath the basin, thereby avoiding noise pollution and, as an additional benefit, preventing the water from heating up. Three standard FlowSurf™ widths are available: 8 m, 10 m and 12 m, but any other width can be considered.

The advantages of our FlowSurf™ surfing wave:

The advantages of our FlowSurf™ surfing wave:

  • Sensation and equipment identical to natural surfing,
  • Quality and modularity of the surfing wave,
  • Risk-free activity, surfing wave in open water, moderate flow velocity, flexible materials,
  • Operating cost: low energy consumption and minimal maintenance,
  • Easy operation: immediate start-up and shutdown without constraints,
  • Reduced footprint = 19 m long x 14 m wide ≈ 270 m2 for a 10 m wide FlowSurf™ including the technical rooms,
  • Water heating as it passes through the pumps,
  • Filtration and treatment in accordance with swimming-pool regulations,
  • Capacity: up to 15 people.

FlowSurf™ can either be built permanently in a civil-engineered basin or constructed in a demountable metal structure for temporary and/or event installations. In this case, the surfing wave FlowSurf™ is designed using easily transportable prefabricated elements, standardised containers.
